About Me
Not just a city biker, I do enjoy riding through the day, week or month. I love riding longer distances through stretches of plains, mountains/ghats or seaside. I have done Pune-Delhi ride once and Pune-Bangalore-Pune ride twice. Went to a 10 day south India solo journey just to explore the less ridden heavens in TN, KN, KL, MH, Goa. Now I am like a blood thirsty tiger, the more I ride, the thirst for it increases. :)
Do I think I have contributed to the motorcycling community, however a
small way it may be?
In almost all rides I strictly use protective gear like, jackets, gloves, helmet, knee guard etc. I do promote such gears to be used by my friends or known people who ride through or out of cities. My contribution can be considered in a way that I have made so many of people to use such protective gearing while riding which make the journeys more confident and safe....eventually, happy! :) I have influenced many to travel on motorcycles thus feeling nature more closely and differently and hence getting an unprecedented awareness for its protection.
How can I contribute more in the future to the motorcycling community?
I always like to advocate using motorcycles over higher means of personal transportation (cars etc) as it itches (pollutes) our nature to a lesser extent (per person wise). Again, I always recommend people to use proper riding gear to be safe wherever they go saving many lives and sorrows.
My Touring Experience
Total Kms. Clocked
Aprox. 10,000 km
Best Ride
10 Days Solo Ride from 10 June 2010 to 20 June 2010. Pune - Bangalore - Oddanchatram - Kodaikanal - Munnar - Ooty - Kozikode - Bhatkal - Panaji - Pune Best time of my life. I managed to escape from work and took a journey that changed me completely. As intended, avoiding major cities, I traveled through some of India's best highways and some of the remotest roads through dripping jungles. Stretching myself to ride 900km (Pune-Bangalore) or a super-relaxed ride where I rode only 90km (Oddanchataram-Kodaikanal), at the end of each day I felt more energy to take the road next day. I witnessed so many faces of nature like extremely dry or heavy rains, heat and chill in just these many days. Felt calmness as well as fury of nature right on the road. I also happened to feel so many types of feelings - happiness, fear, excitement, thrill, eternal-peace and many more. It even made me t take pledge to protect nature in every possible way. I am on it, I am on highway. :))
One dream ride that I want to do
Riding across Tibbet! I'll always strive to do this. Difficult, but I know its not impossible.
Places I have ridden
Pune, Bangalore, Kodaikanal, Ooty, Munnar, Kozikode, Munnar, Goa, many parts of western ghats, Ahemadabad, Jaipur, Narkanda.

Tips to budding tourers
1. Ride safe, use protective gear whenever possible. It gived confidence when you know you are comparatively safe. 2. Follow Rules: Its difficult in India but this is not a excuse. It feels good to follow rules and obviously avoids many troubles. 3. No hurry: Riding fast and in hurry are completely different things. Avoid unnecessary overtaking and let other pass. Riding with traffic is the best way. 4. Dont overlook your bike, afterall its your best/only buddy through the journey. Respect i
