About Me
I am a biker, more into riding. While riding, I am away from this materialistic worldly desires, chasing my dreams and following my passion - passion to ride hard, passion to ride safe, passion to ride in a no-nonsense mode. As a biker I want to go to places on my bike and live a local life, do what locals do, only thing differentiating me from them being my bike.
Do I think I have contributed to the motorcycling community, however a
small way it may be?
I always insist in safe riding and with helmet on. I pick polythene near water bodies and dump it at a safer place. I want motorcyclists to contribute to other communities rather than contributing to the motorcycling community, which in themselves is made up of mature individual bikers. Even if I don't know a rider, I never hesitate to stop and offer my help, if I see a stranded biker on the road.
How can I contribute more in the future to the motorcycling community?
To contribute to the motorcycling community, first of all awareness among bikers is needed. Like every community, motorcycling community too comprises of people from diverse backgrounds, with different interests. Respecting each of us, instead of indulging in show-offs if we are considerate towards fellow bikers or group of bikers and share our experiences, information about people, places, bikes creates an environment of brotherhood in community.
My Touring Experience
Total Kms. Clocked
Best Ride
In May-June 2009, I was on the road with my bike for 1 full month. I covered full Himachal and made a lot of local friends, everywhere I went. As a friendly rider, I cleared their myths about a biker being an arrogant, adamant and a mean guy.
One dream ride that I want to do
All my accomplished rides till date were my dream come true rides. Still one dream I want to live with would be doing Delhi-Leh (non-stop)
Places I have ridden
Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu&Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand. I rate Sach Pass as the toughest pass, Harsil as most beautiful town and Manali-Leh highway as one of the most scenic roads, one can think of.
Best touring Bike according to me
I toured with Electra-350 5s and find it to be the best for Indian terrain and other conditions.
Tips to budding tourers
Respect nature, respect people, be considerate. Make your camera, your pen as your friend, in addition to the local people. Don't just become a part of any ride, but decide your ride. Sometimes no planning can make you more experienced to face the unexpected, enjoy that phase as well.
