About Me
A few years back, all you could call me was a Hooligan on Bike - breaking signals, beeping monster horns, rashing through traffic & cutting every biker on road. The year was 2008 that I got to know of xbhp, joined it n got amazed that India too have something that I had seen only in Hollywood movies, Bikers, REAL BIKERS. And in a few months, I was changed, I became a Biker, a Tourer, Corner carver, a Road safety promoter which in my initial days of biking I thought was unkool & mundane. Today Am a better human being, living an Uber-cool Biker's nomad lifestyle. Being a Networker, I dont need to go office & hence my work happens where I decide to stop. After 3 years of being a Biker I'v almost covered length n breath of India, from Ladakh to Chennai & Bangalore, from Mumbai to Nagpur & Rann of Kutch, soon will be touching the untouched EAST. What more can I ask for from life, I Love it, I love being a Biker, A proud SANE BIKER.
Do I think I have contributed to the motorcycling community, however a
small way it may be?
Yes I had, atleast I can say that with whatever I had done. I had conducted a few Safety Meets in Mumbai, not just for xbhp'ians, but for all the fellow Bikers around. Inspired many to wear Helmets n other safety gears, inspiring safe riding, inspiring to corner carving & made a few to learn from what i have. Contribution or not, I'v played my part well & will keep doing so, inspiring a single person to wear a Helmet is an Achievement for Me, nothing less than holding the Oscar itself.
How can I contribute more in the future to the motorcycling community?
By doing what I am doing OR by any greater means & knowledge that I will get or grab from my journies, experiences, etc. Me riding sane on the road, me wearing helmet n gears are good enough if a single soul gets inspired n starts the same.
My Touring Experience
Total Kms. Clocked
80000+ on Karizma & 35000+ Dio = 115000+ kms
Best Ride
7000+ kms LADAKH - A biker's pilgrimage. I am lucky to had been there & done that. But One more is also not enough, So coming back soon...
One dream ride that I want to do
Scale the length n breath on Himalayas in a SINGLE RIDE, from LADAKH (Nubra) to ASSAM through NEPAL.
Places I have ridden
From MUMBAI to > Ladakh, Himachal, Kashmir, Punjab, Rann of Kutch, Rajasthan, Goa, Bangalore, Hampi, Chennai, Delhi, Nagpur, etc.
Best touring Bike according to me
Karizma - coz it never let me down, not even a single fall during the 7000+kms of Ladakh ride.
Tips to budding tourers
Ride at speeds that you are comfortable in. Better ride in Groups for starters & in formation if possible. Should use horns & blinkers while overtaking any kinda vehicle, specially trucke & buses. Dont overtake on turns & dont try to corner on blind turns. Take proper sleep/rest before starting to ride & lastly, Keep yourself hydrated to be in the best condition.
