About Me
Pulsar Maniac, Highway organism.. I love to ride long and hard.. I love talking to my bike throughout most of our journeys and we love to give each other company. Used to be the insane types in the past.. the last year has made me more sensible, sedate and steady on the road. On a group ride, I love to tail the group and take care of anyone who needs help.. quite literally.. 'Leaving no man behind'.
Do I think I have contributed to the motorcycling community, however a
small way it may be?
As a whole, I love to help out my fellow Pulsar owners through whatever issues they might have on their P220 / P180s. I love to dish out touring advices all throughout. Since now I am also a senior member, I also incessantly keep discouraging my friends and fellow bikers from commit insanity on the road by leading by example through my posts and actions.
How can I contribute more in the future to the motorcycling community?
In the future, I would like to spread the message of safety through my actions to even bigger audiences and help them realize how important it is to remain safe regardless of what happens on the road. This, because I wish to change the general perception of motorcycles from being commuting tools / killing machines to something which can be used to enjoy a holiday with a certain degree of safety.
My Touring Experience
Total Kms. Clocked
60000 in the last 7 years... 32k in the last 1.5 years.
Best Ride
My longest solo ride yet, when I missed my train to meet my sweetheart on valentines' so decided to embark on a 27 hour, 1670km marathon ride instead. I passed through 3 states in 1 calendar date, braved fatigue, hunger, cold, dacoit infested areas & made it to my lunch date 2 minutes before time.
One dream ride that I want to do
Traverse the entire Himalayas in 1 single ride... Starting from Pune, first heading to Ladakh via Srinagar, then returning via Manali, then head towards Spiti, Uttarakhand, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, WB, And North East states, ending up at Arunachal.
Places I have ridden
Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerela, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh.
Best touring Bike according to me
Below 1 Lac: Pulsar 220 DTSi F without Doubt. Above... Ninja 650R..
Tips to budding tourers
Tips.. apart from those already mentioned on would be something I always do.. Always expect it to rain.. and carry your 2-piece raincoat :). Riding Solo is a journey towards self discovery, it helps you connect with your inner self. Group rides have their own charm and helps form friends that last a lifetime. Never pass up an opportunity to experience these yourself. Ridehard, Ride Long.. But wear your gear and ride safe :)
