About Me
I started my journey on motorized two wheels about 2 years and 15000 kms ago, From that time, I've grown as a biker and more importantly as an individual. Riding my bike calms me down. I enjoy riding on highways at night with nothing but the beat of my bike, it's like she's talking to me. I am a responsible rider, never take the bike out without gears. For me it's like put the helmet and the keys together and either take both or take none. I consider myself a novice in the field of 2 wheels, and am always willing to absorb as much knowledge as possible about bikes. I will continue doing so forever as I don't think one can reach a point where one knows everything there is to know. My journey has just started, let's see what lies on the road ahead...

Do I think I have contributed to the motorcycling community, however a
small way it may be?
My contributions towards the biking community are limited at best. I've convinced my friends to wear atleast a helmet on all rides, although I'd have to state that they're very smart too and wear only half face helmets which I think aren't any good. But then they'd be better off with a half lid than no lid at all in case of a mishap. I've till date helped 5 bikers push their bikes to petrol stations/puncture repair shops. This number might be small but I hope the people who saw me doing thing got a good lesson and they'd do the same if they saw a biker in need. And my biggest contribution was quite recent. I was heading out on a fine morning to the petrol station (I always fill up my bike's tank in the morning, I believe that due to the warm rays of the sun the fuel expands and we get lesser fuel in the afternoon than we'd get in the morning for the same amount of money), suddenly I saw a car hitting a local milkman head on. The milkman was riding a hero honda splendor and was not wearing a helmet. I stopped my bike on the side of the road, and helped the some people put the unconscious milkman on the side of the road. After about 30 minutes the milkman opened his eyes, and after 10 more minutes the ambulance came. The surprising thing was no-one from a crowd of more than 50 onlookers approached the injured milkman to put him into the ambulance. I and the driver of the car that hit him had to put him in the ambulance, and that is when the driver himself was hit on the head. I don't know what the people of this country think, but the police did not harass me. They didn't even take my witness statement. I wish to be able to create awareness amongst the people of India about biking as well as general information.

How can I contribute more in the future to the motorcycling community?
Yes, I will continue contributing to the biking fraternity. I will continue doing all what I've done so far and also will not let go of an opportunity to help out a fellow biker in need. Knowledge about biking is something that needs to be circulated amongst the people of India. I will participate in rallies and programs that are aimed at educating the masses about proper biking.

My Touring Experience
Total Kms. Clocked
17000 kms and counting
Best Ride
Delhi-Lansdowne-Pauri-Tehri-Chamba-Dhanolti-Mussoorie This ride was the longest I've ridden, both in terms of kilometers clocked as well as days out of home. Day1 was pretty usual, Day2 I rode 210 kms of hills, which was tiring. On day3 I rode back to delhi in the dark. The experience was amazing..
One dream ride that I want to do
I want to do a cross country ride, crossing international borders on my bike would be the ride for me.
Places I have ridden
Lansdowne, Pauri, Tehri, Mussoorie
Best touring Bike according to me
Yamaha R15, It's one major advantage is that due to it's liquid cooling system you can rip for hours and the bike will not give up on you.
Tips to budding tourers
Be sensible. Common sense is the most important weapon that a tourer can have. It will tell you what your limits are and how much you can stretch them. It will also tell you what will happen if you over stretch those limits.

My Other Experience
Mechanic/ Service Etc.
I can change my bike's engine oil and can lubricate her chain. I can also change/clean the air filter. I can replace her brake pads and also bleed the lines if need be.
